Hiassen on Creationism

Carl Hiassen does his usual hilarious hatchet job, this time on the joke that is Florida "science" and the seemingly never ending stream of Creationist idjits.

Science is based on observation.  If there is a God, we cannot observe it.  We have no logical reason to believe or disbelieve in the existence of God.  It is purely faith.  Therefore God is of no use to science and should stay out of the classroom.  If you want to learn about faith in the supernatural, go to church or take a religious study class, not biology.

I respect peoples beliefs, but we really need to keep our science classes based on science.
